Description

A picture of a gold dragon on a pedestal, turned into a 2D art using Hueforge.

The gold silk PLA really enhances the feel of this piece, but I faced some stringing when printing at a layer height of 0.08. Maybe you won't have the same issues.

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm

Filaments Used:

PLA Artista Black

PLA eSun Brown

PLA Overture Silk Gold

PLA Artista White

Swap Instructions:

Start with Black

At layer #5 (0.48mm) swap to Brown

At layer #10 (0.88mm) swap to Gold

At layer #18 (1.52mm) swap to White for the rest.

printed really good, great design. only 4 stars because the black base layer is too thin , really should be a few more layers to it for some rigidity. I have almost exclusively inland PLA so that’s what I used. inland black pla inland tough pla brown eSun silk gold inland white pla

printed great, P1S with AMS (disabled prime tower). I used black, 2 different silk golds and silk white.

Following popular demand, I created a medallion with a similar technique that evokes a 'metallic' feeling and shine. It's also much closer to 3D art, because the dragon head and horns actually emerge from the surface. This piece doesn't actually utilize silk gold, but only matte colors. The metallic feeling is created by overlaying the white color strategically over the matte yellow, to create a sense of reflected light.
