Description
This marble bust, completed by French sculptor Adam Lambert-Sigisbert, is a work completed in 1733 and housed in the National Academy of San Luca. The sculpture, titled 'Dolore' or Pain was inspired by the Laocoon group, which the artist discovered on his travels. The subject of the piece is unknown but it could be suggested that, becaause of the artist's interest in the Hellenistic group, it would depict Laocoon.

I always wondered how sculpts would look like if painted. This started when I was told that the sculpts in the metope of Parthenon where painted and what remains today is the decoloured marble after many ages.
Some times I just try to paint, but in other cases, something provocative comes into my mind and I follow a more creative path. In any case, enjoy!
