Description
This but of Antionous was found at Hadrian's Villa.
Antinous (d130) was a Bithynian youth who was the favourite and companion of the Roman emperor Hadrian (76-138). Antinous drowned in the Nile and Hadrian founded the city of Antinopolis at the site of his death in his memory. Throughout the rest of his rule, Hadrian commissioned many hundreds of statues of Antinous.
