Quick Change Laser Mount for MPCNC

Description

SummaryThis laser mount will allow you to swap out the standard Flex cutting tool for a laser in seconds. It is designed to fit the flex tool holder. I have a harbor freight flex tool. The laser is a 300-400 mw red 650 nm 12 mm laser available on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/271107358613 is the one I have). Other 12 mm lasers will fit also. You can modify the driver box to suit your needs. It was quickly drawn up in Sketchup and the driver is just hot-glue mounted in the box. My existing fan (available in remixes) worked well enough to keep the driver and laser cool. The driver box is just friction fit to the laser tube, but you may want to glue/ABS juice it. The lid is also friction-fit. I have the laser AND fan both connected to D9 on the RAMPS 1.4 board, so they turn on/off together. They are connected with plugs for quick swap-ability. I use Inkscape for the designs to be burned https://inkscape.org/en/ and some laser to gcode plugins for Inkscape : http://jtechphotonics.com/?page_id=2012 and https://github.com/305engineering/Inkscape . These plug-ins were used in the examples pictured above. There are other plugins available. Search for "inkscape laser plugin" for more.Print SettingsRafts: Doesn't MatterSupports: NoResolution: .18Infill: 20Notes: I printed mine in white ABS. Example printed on a MendelMax 1.5
