Description

Summary It's Movember 2016 and Global Print Initiative is hosting a contest for the best beard. I decided to include printed beards in the contest. Please take a second and vote for your favorite. Each vote is $1 and it goes to Global Print Initiative a 501(c)3 charity that brings 3D printers to hard to reach places and teaches them the skills to run a print shop to allow them to support local good will initiatives. At the end of the competition, the winner gets to choose what charity or school will get a 3D Printer. Print Settings Printer: GPrint Box Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 100 Notes: The model as is will print perfectly with a .3 first layer and .2 for the rest of the layers. if you want it to fit do some measurements. You can either super glue the left and right side or if you have a big enough bed print the full beard. Post-Printing Thermal Forming After printing the beard and gluing it together, use a heat gun or a hairdryer to mold the beard to your face. Please be careful, any temperature that is hot enough to manipulate the plastic will be hot enough to BURN YOUR FACE! How I Designed This OnShape and pictures I took a couple of picture of my beard from straight on and on the side view. Then I added the images individually to OnShape and traced over the left side of my beard. I then mirrored the image and extruded
