Latches for the Acrylic Panels Lulzbot Mini Enclosure

Description

SummaryThese little clips hold acrylic panels as part of a simple secure easily removable enclosure system for 3D printers. These were used for enclosures for the Lulzbot Mini and a variant for the Makerbot Replicator. These are designed to be cut from 5mm acrylic, but they could be cut from anything up to 1/4", or 3D printed There is an improved printable version of this clip at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1044852 We recommend you use this printable version, when printing these clips. The slots on the mating panels would need to be adjusted accordingly, to accommodate different thicknesses. I would not go thinner than 5mm, as they need some heft to distribute the forces on the panel and avoid cracking it, and to provide a secure installation. The lower clips (long ones) are designed to slide up on the panels for installation, and to be held in the locked position by gravity. As such these clips only work well in a vertical orientation. Use with Lulzbot Mini Acrylic panel profiles: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:994992 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:756211 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:756173 If you're interested in a kit of all the laser cut panels and printed parts to enclose your Lulzbot Mini, we have an enclosure kit available at: http://drazzticaction.com/products-page-2/3dprinters/lulzbot-acrylic-enclosure/ Enjoy, Jim Rasmussen TabSynth Design Works LLC InstructionsLaser cut from 5mm or larger Acrylic. They could also be 3D printed. Included is an OpenSCAD file to extrude the profile to 5mm thickness, for printing. The STL file is the output.
