In Roman mythology, Diana was the goddess of the hunt, moon and birthing who had the power to talk to and control animals. In this larger than life sculpture in the gardens of the palace of Versailles in France, Diana is depicted with her dog who is always by her side. Until recently the sculpture had a bow and arrow in her extended left hand.
