Summary Make custom dice with any number of faces, and anything on the faces! Don't you hate it when you have to randomly pick between 7 things and you only have 6 sided dice? Well worry no more with Die-I-Y Dice! Guaranteed to be mostly random(ish), and at least three times more spherical than boring platonic solid dice. Use the customizer app or download the OpenSCAD script. Edit the 'sides' variable with any standard text or unicode symbols (e.g. emoji/smilies/Roman numerals/Braille), separated by spaces. See here: http://unicode-table.com/en/#miscellaneous-symbols for more weird and wonderful symbols (NB. leave font as default if you're using unicode symbols, not all fonts are compatible). If there's any problems with the customizer, please let me know what font and symbols you were using and I'll try and fix it. All these have printed fine on my Mini Kossel and work's Ultimaker 2, but some of the overhangs are quite steep so good cooling will help. How I Designed This The basic points-on-a-sphere algorithm was originally from here: https://github.com/clothbot/makerbot/blob/master/fabjects/libraries/constructors/map2PointsOnSphere.scad Which was in turn derived from here: http://www.softimageblog.com/archives/115 String splitting from here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1237203 Geodesic sphere from here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1484333, because it's far more interesting than an OpenSCAD standard sphere.
