3D model description

This is a replica of a Graflex Speed Graphic press camera:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d9/Stanley_Kubrick%27s_Speed_Graphic_camera_at_the_LACMA_exhibit.jpg

The intent of this project is to create a phone case so a character in a vintage themed party can take pictures with their phone without breaking the immersion.

The camera has been scaled to comfortably fit a phone behind it with the phones camera looking through the hole. Additionally the camera is much thinner than the real thing and the lens is twice the diameter. This is to allow the phone camera to see as much as possible.

This is a work in progress and I have not combined many of the pieces for printing- that is, I glued them together after printing.

Refer to the image of the model for the reference on how to glue parts together.

Notes:

Even with the scaling changes the pictures will have a round border unless you zoom in.
I didn't include the pipe for the flash. It is designed to work with 1/2" PVC pipe. I also didn't include the dish or bulb for the flash because it was easier and looked better to find an appropriate dish from the thrift store and use a real bulb.
I used regular wire on the face plate of the lens for the rail along the top and on the left supporting the dangling piece.
I attached the phone to the back with an inexpensive spring loaded phone holder like this one:

There are similar models here on Thingiverse if you would prefer to print your own.

Needed Improvements:

Integrate the phone holder into the model.
Combine the side bracket parts so they can be printed together.
Fix the flash bulb threading to fit an E12 candelabra bulb.
Give the viewfinder a little more meat to hold onto the case so it doesn't have to be glued.

Overall this turned out wonderfully well and even with the comical scaling it does a good job preserving the immersion when taking pictures.
