3D model description

I wanted a way to track Day and Night in MTG that looked better than the included Day/Night Cards that come in some Innistrad Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow Packs. So I designed this quick little Token which prints in 3 pieces, and can look really nice on a single extruder printer by taking advantage of the really simple "color change" function in many slicers.

The 3 parts do not require any supports, and are as follows:
Day Side: A Sun is embossed on this face of the token, and you can slice it with a color change at the layer that the sun starts.

Night Side: A Crescent Moon is embossed on this face of the token, and you can slice it with a color change at the layer that the Moon starts.

Connector Ring: This piece can be printed in any color and just joins the 2 halves together. The Fit Tolerance is enough to keep the 2 halves together in my test prints, but you can undo the fit still if needed. If you find this is too loose, you can try printing it with horizontal expansion set to .05 to .1 in your slicer settings, or by using an adhesive like super glue.

3D printing settings

I recommend printing this at a high layer height to save time, there is no Z axis detail, so the difference in printing it at .25 and .1 on a decently calibrated printer will be negligible.

There is no need for supports, you may notice there is a circle cutout of the sun and Moon pieces that your slicer says is unsupported, but the distance is small enough to be bridged and prints cleanly with even the lowest-end printers with suboptimal cooling. (This is true at 100% scale, if you are scaling the object up significantly, this may vary.)

Include a color change at the layer heights of the moon and sun for added pizazz, and you wont need to paint it!
