What's the difference vs D440RC original Crawling Inserts?
Ninja Foams are designed to have a stronger "core" or inner layer. The outer layer (with gyroid pattern) is thinner and the inner layers have more structural support. This result gives the opportunity for two "better" use cases: 1) Racing requires hard foams for predictability and steadiness at speed. Printing these inserts with 92 or 95A TPU (e.g. Overture 95A, Sainsmart 92A) provides that perfect feeling of a single-stage foam while keeping the outer layer's traction and giving a rock-solid side strength. 2) Crawling For folks who like the "core" of the foams with more support or find the gen1 inserts "too soft", this is a great option. The outer layer is still very soft, and this model is ideal to be printed in soft 85 or 87A TPU (e.g. NinjaFlex 85A, Sainsmart 87A) since the internal structure keeps the insert strong even with super soft filament.

This is a tire insert model to print in TPU for 2.2" wheel diameter tires for RC Racing and Crawling rigs like Axial Yeti, Axial Bomber, Axial Wraith, Losi Rock Rey, Losi Hammer Rey, etc. The model is optimized for 5.75" tall tires (like Proline Hyrax or Pitbull Rockbeast) and there's also a version for smaller diameter versions of 5.75" (like Deep Woods).

The model has 3 layers that provide progressive resistance to the tire surface, from soft to stiff in the center. This allows RC cars to have great traction while keeping the tire shape, adding grip, and making the car predictable during racing.

These models cannot be stretched on the X/Y axis (insert diameter) since it will impact the design, but you can stretch them as you want on the Z-axis (insert width) if you want to fit them in a wider or narrower tire or wheel.

Read 3D printing settings carefully, as is critical to get the right outcome. Each print will take ~6hrs with hard TPU (with soft TPU will take ~2-3hrs more). If you need help, please reach out on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/d440rc

You can sell 3D printed parts designed by D440RC, but need to comply with four simple rules: 1) Respect the brand, make it clear this is D440RC design, and don’t change the original name/brand helping advertise model purchase in Cults, 2) you need to buy/download the models you want to sell, 3) prints must be in good quality, 4) you can only sell 3d printed parts, you CAN NOT sell/give away the models/files, those are only for you to keep.

3D printing settings

The model uses Ultimaker Cura slicer infill patterns to model the soft layers, providing full flexibility to the user to configure the tire insert as they like. The model will include 3mf file to open as "project" in Cura, which includes the print settings.

Infill UP or DOWN in Cura settings if you want a softer or stiffer insert. Around 6% is usually good but depends on the filament you are using.

This must be printed in TPU (tested with Overture TPU 92A and 95A), 0.4mm nozzle, wall line count 1, NO Fill Gaps in Between Walls, No Top/Bottom layers, Support for the inner ring, and 0.2~0.28 layer height. Make sure your TPU settings are performing well. Printing Gyroid Infill.

Open the 3mf Cura project file (Open as Project). And should be ready to print in Ender3 kind of printers.
