3D model description

The MS Boat, or more formally the CRDA 60 t motor torpedo boat, was an Italian development based on the German S-Boat.

Early on in the war the Italians managed to capture some Yugoslavian S-Boats that they had bought from Germany before the outbreak of hostilities. When it became clear that their own MAS 500 torpedo boats were not very suited to longer ranged missions (due to a lack of seaworthiness), the MS Boat was developed.

It was a very successful design. Two MS Boats - MS 16 and MS 22 - sunk the British Town-class light cruiser HMS Manchester, the largest warship sunk by torpedo boats during WWII.

This particular model is based on drawings of the MS 16, one of the first series of MS Boats (the second series had more torpedoes). I have now put up my files for the second series (and the carrier version). You can find them here:

The files included:

MS 16 Armed - the boat with 2 20mm cannons and 2 torpedoes on board.

MS 16 Unarmed - as above, but with the cannons removed for separate printing.

Breda Model 35 on Mount (No Gun Shield) - the cannon in question.

Breda Model 35 on Mount (No Gun Shield) without loop - as above, but with the small loop above the gun removed (in case your printer doesn't like it).
