Las Vegas Stratosphere Hotel and Casino - The Tallest Free Standing Observation Tower in the US

A model of Las Vegas's Stratosphere Hotel and Casino, which holds the record for being the tallest free standing observation tower tower in the United States. I uploaded this because it is one of the landmarks of Las Vegas that stands out the most, as well as because of the record it set as the tallest free standing observation tower.

Design Process:

I started out with the smaller buildings surrounding the hotel and tower, then added the hotel section. Next, I tried making the tower but the first attempt failed, so i tried a few other methods until I could get the bending supports. After that it was simple to get the observation deck on top of the supports, and I added the trussed antenna on top. I split the hotel building up into section to add the stripes of windows, but realized that those caused slicing errors for my printer so I removed the windows in the stl file. Finally, I added in the vertical tower that goes in between the three supports and houses the elevator up to the top of the stratosphere.

The casino was designed as multiple separate, but connected buildings. A large portion of it is the casino, the tall building behind the observation tower is the hotel, and then there is the observation tower itself topped off with a radio antenna broadcasting local radio stations. Later on I made further modifications to fix small errors, and increased the scale of the model to make it a reasonable size for printing.
