3D model description

I wanted a phone holder for my 2016 Sienna, but I couldn't be bothered to model one from scratch. I found two other Things and made this adapter to connect them together.

The mount this was designed for should fit post-refresh XL30 Siennas (2015 and newer). I've only tested it in a 2016 Sienna, but if your dashboard looks like the one in this picture, it should fit (over the right driver's side vent). https://cars.usnews.com/static/images/Auto/izmo/i960927/2016_toyota_sienna_dashboard.jpg

The holder works OK with my Kyocera Duraforce Pro 2 (pretty thick phone). I had to scale it up a bit though. If you have a thinner phone (like an iPhone with a thin case), print everything at 1x scale.

This holder slots into the right driver's side vent and limits its range of motion a bit. This hasn't been an issue for me.

The adapter may need some scaling and post-print finishing to fit right. To dial in your print settings, print the part at 1x scale with low infill (10-20%) so you don't waste too much plastic. See how it fits and adjust it accordingly, then reprint it at 50-100% infill until you get it right. If the cylindrical end doesn't fit in the dashboard bracket, use some coarse sandpaper to make it a little thinner.

Parts list:

1x Dash_mount_without_screw_hole.stl, 1x Connector_thin_curved.stl, 1x GPS_mount_main_part.stl https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1510253

1x Gripping_Smartphone_Holder.stl (or the individual body and slide files), 1x socket.stl, 1x Threaded_Nut.stl https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1778271

1x adapter (duh)

1x Command strip (I used the black velcro ones), 1x rubber band (a little larger than a golf ball in diameter, feel free to experiment)
