3D model description

UPDATE 12/24/2021: I confess, I've leveled the bed 3 times since I released this document. Once when I took it apart, once when I moved, and once when a screw came loose. Other than that, no need. I also use Avoid Supports and Z Hop when Retracted in Cura as there are no springs in the solid lock-mount configuration.

COME STEP into a world where you install and level your hot bed once, and it STAYS that way.

Unless something breaks, loosens or desires upgrading, you will never have to level your hot bed again.

It may sound too good to be true, but when you fully understand that your 3D printer is just a machine, you'll know how to align it, calibrate it, and keep it running perfectly.

I converted my Hot Bed to 3-point mount over 2 months ago, and haven't touched the bed level since.

The result: well over 200 parts, all with perfect 1st layers and final prints, and still going.

I haven't touched a bed level thumbwheel since, because I haven't had to: my bed is level, and it stays that way.

It not magic or voodoo: it's geometry, and geometry never lies.

The only usable downloadable file you'll find in this Thing is a PDF.

(There is a Dummy.stl file, but it's only there because something HAS to be.)

Download the PDF, give it a good read.
I welcome all comments and discussions around this topic.

If you can find nothing to disagree with, and you're still 4-corner mounted, make the change to 3-point, and simplify your 3D printing life.

What you'll lose is that "every print" bed leveling session you put yourself through, chasing 4 corners and never finding the perfect level.

What you'll gain is a Hot Bed that never goes out of level, with perfect 1st layers and continuing prints, every time.

Who doesn't want that?

Come on folks, lose a screw and be BETTER for it!!!

The PDF is also included in another Thing I posted:

Locking Thumbwheels https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3400187

The PDF and the Locking Thumbwheels go hand-in hand.

If you would be so kind, please post your Makes.

Thank You!
