3D model description

This is another modell not related to anything with repeating crossbows :-)

For DIY my e-bikes I often simply use u-shaped profiles out of aluminum bolted to the frame via waterbottle mounts.

This works fine so far but you have to produce slots in the profiles for the mounting straps. Since I do not have expensive metal processing equipment I end up using my Dremel tool. Works but really is some sort of PITA. So I came up with the idea do produce a parametric design which lets you adjust width, length and mounting holes. I have two print ready STLs. On of simple double water bottle mounts and one with tripple screw on mounts you often find on special e-bike frame like my Fatbike you see in the picture. I would print this at least form PLA+. PETG or ASA would be better. It uses four M5 threaded rods to compress the layers and make things more stable. I printed this thing with 100% infill which might be a bit overkill though. Width of the ready STLs is around 80 mm to fit 21700 as well as 18650 cells in horizontal orientation.

I have included the OpenSCAD file for your personal adjustments. Since I am a "Kraut" the descriptions are in German. But things are not really complicate. Beside installing OpenSCAD you can easily adjust the battery mount by modifying the variables below. I comment behind then what they are good for

// Abmaße Akkusschiene
schiene_l = 240; - Length of mount
schiene_w = 88; - Width of battery mount
schiene_h = 30; - Height of battery mount

// Materialstärke Akkuschiene
schiene_d = 6.5; - Material strength of battery mount

// Rundungen Akkuschiene
d_gewinde = 5.1; - Diameter of threaded rod plus a few 1/10 mmm. You can adjust this here for non-metric threaded rods.
d_stab = 9; - Outer diameter of the cylinder where the threaded rods go through

Simply play around with the variables. OpenSCAD is not really complicate. Drop me a comment if you have issues.
