3D model description

These are clips for mounting an acrylic shell around the sides of a printer with 19mm (3/4") square frame rails. The front and back panel clips are self aligning and lock in place to keep the shell stable. The clips allow the front panel to be removed and hung on a side panel for access to the printer bed. These clips and the shell panels that attach to them are designed to work on the original Rigidbot and ReliaBuild frames. The clips are common to all the printer sizes. Only the shell dimensions will change for the various printer sizes. The clips are not designed for the bottom portion of an RB2.

The laser cut acrylic shell panels for the various printer sizes can be ordered by contacting ReliaBuild 3D. https://reliabuild3d.com/contact/
The clips are attached to the shell panels with M4 bolts. The holes in the clips are sized to be self tapping during assembly. 48 round head M4 bolts are required for assembly.

The full collection of clips is available for printing all at once, or the individual clips (print 8 of each for a full set) can be printed as required.

It is highly recommended that you use thermally calibrated filament for the best results and fit. I use these calibration clips for thermally calibrating my filament with great success.

The shell is effective in blocking draft currents from the sides. They also keep curious fingers away from the LCD control screen and moving parts. For a full enclosure your own top panels can be placed from side to side with allowance for a gap in the middle over the printer head X axis rails to accommodate side to side movement.
