Death Star Laser Turret - Simple

This is a remix of a Death Star Laser turret for the Star Wars X-Wing miniatures game. It is not intended to be an accurate prop replica. I sliced the existing file into 3 parts and modified them so the turret can rotate and the guns can elevate. The base is hollow and the guns have been slimmed up. The assembly is entirely snap together.

The STL file includes an assembly of all three parts. They are Cura scaled and oriented for printing. If desired they can be split apart and printed separately, or independently deleted from the assembly. Cura allows you to break the assembly apart, delete what you do not want, and save off the individual parts if you can't load an STL file into a modeling editor.

The hollow base allows for the future idea of inserting a destroyed turret base inside.

UPDATE: 5/29/2017 STL files that include a simple short barrel version of the guns and the destroyed base insert with slightly more prominent surface detail have been added to the download files. They are interchangeable with the previous parts.

UPDATE: 9/26/19 The Halo Mega Blok adaption of the destroyed base has been added to this collection.

Note: The gun barrels are in the orientation they are intended to be when inserted into the turret. They could be printed vertically if you keep track of that orientation. The barrels are closer to the bottom of the pivot than they are to the top so as to be more flat against the top of the rotation post.
