VF-8 LOGAN IN BATTLOID-ROBOTECH MODE

This type of veritech mecha was considered among the smallest deployed in Earth's armies and was deployed in large numbers. The fighter's diminutive profile was designed to make it a difficult target to hit, but allowed the pilot to remain agile. They were designed for space combat, although they needed to be put into orbit by a transport or warship. When maneuvering in space, the veritech made use of two contravernier thrusters on the shoulders to compensate for the lack of an airbrake.

In Battloid mode , the Logan retained its up thrust on feed and forward thrust on the main engines that were located at the rear. Its secondary mode was often mistaken for a Guardian configuration , although it was actually a full Battloid despite its similar appearance. In Guardian mode, the leg joints were concave and similar to "bird feet" , while the Battloid form was fully upright with fully humanoid bipedal locomotion. In addition, the transformed Logans folded their wings into Battloid mode.

In terms of weapons, the handcrafted armaments were considered lightweight and could not reliably target Robotech Masters Bioroids . Another problem noted with the Logan was the fact that its small wings limited the amount of lift it was capable of achieving and thus affected its value as a fighter.
