Description:

This lamp makes a wonderful night light or decorative table lamp.

It consists of a base and a lid for cylindrical lithophanes with an inner diameter of 100 mm.

The maximum thickness of the lithophane image is 6 mm so that it still fits into the base.

In general, any beautiful panorama image is suitable for creating the lithophane cylinder. There are many websites for creating lithophanes. I like to use https://tool.itslitho.com/ myself

The base already has a hole for the connection cable. I have installed an E14 socket together with a 4 W LED bulb. The holes required for fixing the socket have to be drilled afterwards as the distances between the fixing holes of the sockets vary greatly. When installing the socket or the cable, please ensure that the cable is properly strain-relieved!

Instead of a permanently installed lamp socket, a battery-operated lamp can also be used. These are also often available as RGB versions so that color changes etc. are possible.

The base also has recesses for rubber feet. This ensures a better stand.

Base

Dimensions: 120 mm Ø x 22 mm height

The base has 4 recesses for rubber feet with a diameter of 10 mm. There is also a rounded hole for the cable to pass through. There are additional ventilation holes in the base so that the heat can escape upwards and new air can enter.

The maximum thickness of the lithophane must not exceed 6 mm, otherwise it will no longer fit into the base!

Round lamp sockets up to approx. 70 mm Ø can be used. The ones I used have a diameter of 64 mm and a hole spacing of 50 mm for the mounting holes. These were simply drilled afterwards with a drill.

When operating with a battery-powered lamp, the maximum diameter is 80 mm.

Cover

Dimensions: 110 mm Ø x 11 mm height

The lid is simply inserted into or onto the lithophane cylinder from above. It has ventilation slots to allow the heat to escape. In addition, the pattern in the lid creates a beautiful play of light and shadow on the ceiling.

Printing information:

Printed with an Elegoo Saturn 2 8K with a layer height of 0.05 mm.

I prefer to print the lithophanes in white.

Supports were only ever placed at the bottom and inside of the cylinder when printing the lithophanes so that the printed image was not affected.

After printing, all parts were wet sanded with 320 or 400 grit sandpaper (lithophane, of course, only on the back) to remove all support residues and unevenness. I like to sand the lithophane and large surfaces in general directly after cleaning and before curing.

• 1 x E14 socket. E.g. 64 mm Ø x 40 mm height, with screw terminals for connecting the cables. Please do not plug in - the risk of a short circuit is too high here.

• 1 x E14 LED bulb 3-5 W. For more than 5 W, please always remove the cover or use an appropriately high lithophane picture. Otherwise it may get too warm!

• 1 x connection cable with switch. 230 V, 2-wire

Battery operated

• 1 x battery-operated tea light or lamp with max. 80 mm Ø
