Store and secure your secret belongings with this lockable and resettable cryptex puzzle box! Confound your enemies and confuse your friends when you challenge them to unlock the compartment to reach their prize. This lock box is a perfect prop for role playing sessions, escape rooms, party games, or as a fun display piece. Reset your secret code at any time, choosing from 100,000 different possible combinations.
This cryptex is an original design from us at Hamilton PrintWorks and is sold as a kit of STL files. The final build consists of over a dozen pieces and parts that must be assembled together. A digital parts guide, printing guide, and assembly instruction packet are included with your download, clearly walking you through the printing and assembly process.
Your 3D printer should be properly configured and "dialed in" to print fine lines accurately, as some of the parts include 3D printed screw threads. Glue is required to assemble the printed tumblers; any super glue or 3D modeling glue will suffice. The tumblers each have ten faces, with the default tile set displaying numerals 0-9, allowing you to pick your combination during assembly. It's easy to reset or change your code when the cryptex is unlocked; just don't forget your code! There's no easy way to open the cryptex without it...
The complete cryptex kit weighs in at over a pound (over 0.55 kg) and takes almost two days to fully 3D print at the recommended printer settings. Weight and print time may vary if you tweak the printer settings.
Like all of our designs at Hamilton PrintWorks, this cryptex kit is protected under copyright and the cryptex models themselves bear the HPW logo (where feasible). Purchasing this pack grants you a non-commercial personal-use license allowing you to print the cryptex for your own use. The digital files are never to be sold, shared, given away, or distributed in any way, nor are derivative works to be made from them without our consent. While you can make minor modifications to the models to aid in printing the models themselves, the HPW logo must never be removed. That said, we may consider offering commercial licenses in the future for our designs, so please consider following us here on MyMiniFactory and on social media to stay up-to-date on our work.

Each STL file should be oriented to print right-side up on the build plate when imported into your slicer of choice. None of the parts should require any supports. At standard slicer and printer settings (assuming PLA filament) the final assembled model should weigh in at approximately 550 grams and take approximately 45 hours to print across all print jobs.
