3D model description

This is a design for the Creality Ender 3 to replace the Bowden extruder with a direct drive version, using a clone E3D V6 hotend. This design uses the original X-axis plate as a base for the complete hotend-extender part.

For the extruder part I've used the design of a Bondtech Gear extruder from Vas Parshin, that I found on GrabCad. This use of his design is with the consensus of Vas Parshin. In the original design is a place for a microswitch filament sensor, which I didn't use, but I left it in the design, so if you want you can place one.

Printing tips:
Everything is printed with 0.2Β mm layer height. When printing the BackPlate make sure You enter a stop on 6mm20 and 17mm80 to put the M3 Hex nuts in place.

Print the RadialFixation with one of the sides that go in the HotEndCasingFront flat on the bed with support, to get a stronger print.

The whole of my design is also to find on GrabCad https://grabcad.com/library/direct-drive-ender-3-1. If You're not sure how things are fit together you can check it in the explode of the design.

When you decide to convert Your Ender 3 with this upgrade, you have to change the position of one set of motor wires, because placed like this the direction of the motor must be reversed. This can be 1 and 4 of 3 and 6. The Best is to find the paired wires by testing it with a multi meter.

Last but not least you have to adjust the placement of the bed by moving the Y-stop 1 cm further to the front, to keep the nozzle on the right place.
