3D model description

This is the King's Palace in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
The neoclassical building is relatively unknown yet is a historical highlight in the history of royal architecture.

Fun fact: one of the rooms is Vincent's Van Gogh drawing atelier. He lived around the corner for two years at the end of the 1890s.

The palace was renovated in 1865 and 1936 so has a long history attached to it. This model reflects the current state of the building.

It is presently used as our city hall (stadhuis) and with high-rise booming all over the downtown area, the building is assuming a more and more inconspicuous location amongst the trees and surrounding modern architecture.

So let's make it come back to life with a 3D print! The model comes in different parts and all interior floors are inserted through the roof. So your kids can play with it like a doll house.

3D printing settings

The palace is built on a 1:200 scale which means you can print it on 200mm print beds. This requires a high-detail nozzle (0.25mm or below) , 0.1mm layer height, and 40-50mm/s print speed for best results.

Recommended to print at 40cm width (200% scale) or higher. In case you need a version with the windows closed, let me know. I can also supply a version with the windows separately upon request.

The actual building is all white but feel free to experiment and make it into a fantasy castle!
