UPDATE #3: - 2020/03/27

1: I still don't get the other files to load previews, but I'll try to remove/reupload the non-preview ones again. Hoping we'll have a fully previewed file soon!

And if the Download All still does the 404 broken link boogaloo, I still have a complete zipfile uploaded as the top file in the list. So if you want everything, go for that zip!

In addition to that!

I have major news about an upcoming much bigger project!I
Scroll down for more info on that or search/Ctrl+F for "UPDATE #3" to jump right down.

(I added that chuck into the Summary because the latest Thingiverse update broke the formatting codes in the other blocks resulting in garbled wall of texts.)

UPDATE #2: - 2020/03/19

Hmm, seems like the stl previews stopped after a few of them had processed.
Oh well, at least we got a preview of 1-2 files per category of files, so in a sense you can still see everything.

IN ADDITION: I just added a zip-file with all the files.
It's the topmost file that takes 311 kb.
I do not know if "Download All Files" work for you, but it does NOT work for me, that's why I added that file, just in case. But please let me know if it works or not!

UPDATE: - 2020/0#/Don't remember & can't see

So I learned that it seems that things uploaded after 00:00 fails to process the previews, while those uploaded before seems to work better.
So... I removed all the stl files, saved, and then re-uploaded them, and now it seems to work. yay pictures and stl previews! :D

DESCRIPTION: - 2020/0#/Don't remember & can't see

This is a remix of the amazing replacement tokens jjacjackson (https://www.thingiverse.com/jjacjackson/) made.

First, let me quote his own description:
-"Tired of searching the 17 sets of cardboard tokens to match your race? Ever get confused when the blue ships are assigned to a race with yellow or red markers? We did too, but not anymore."

Here is what you need:
* 16 - Command Token (choose from 3 different options)
* 16* - Control Token- (OR print 17 if you ditch the VP token)
* 1 - VP Token- OR simply print an additional Control Token
* 1 - Home Token

So why did I remix this?
I wanted to have 6 sets of tokens instead of 17 a long time, but the acrylic ones I found were (for 6 colors) just as pricey as the full game, and the ones I found here on TV were great, but lacking.
Also, one of my friends I play with is colorblind, sooo I needed to figure that out too.
Color work for me & the other players, but not him.
Then I found these control tokens who has 6 unique symbols, awesome!
However, his kit also included Home, VP and Command tokens, but without the symbols.
That's why I decided to fix that myself.
Now I can save space from having 17 sets, and colorblind can still play as well.

Filename rundown:

  • Command-Fleet_1-6.stl:
New player Command Tokens. The following was remixed.
Front side: Added the 6 unique player symbols.
Back side: Changed the Fighter ship design to the classical dreadnought ship design.
Print 16 per player. (If you choose this design)

  • Command-Fleet_Split_1-6.stl:
If you get trouble with printing the command tokens flat due to the bridging, these should help you. Just glue them together after printing for a complete command token.
Print 16 per player. (If you choose this design)

  • Command-Fleet_Ship&Flat.stl:
If you still want the command token but don't care about the player symbols these ones only have the ship on one side, and are flat on the other.
Print 16 per player. (If you choose this design)

  • Home_1-6.stl:
The tokens from jjacjackson (https://www.thingiverse.com/jjacjackson/) were angled a few degrees wrong, not much so shouldn't bother most people, but for me it did because I really wanted it to align with the edges of the hex perfectly, so I realigned the skew of the token, and then I replaced the two planets on jjacjackson (https://www.thingiverse.com/jjacjackson/)s' design and added the unique player symbols instead.
    Print 1 per player.

  • VP_1-6.stl:
The simplest remix. I really liked that jjacjackson (https://www.thingiverse.com/jjacjackson/) changed one of the control tokens into a VP token since we are after all using one to mark our score. However, it was a regular control token with the letters VP, but without player symbols. So I took the original control tokens he created, and added VP on top of it so they will still be player unique.
    Print 1 per player.

  • Command-Fleet/Home/VP_All Types.stl:
These three files are just all 6 player versions in a single file, per type of token.

  • Unique Player Symbols.stl:
When I remixed these I extracted the player symbols from the control tokens, and I decided to save them as a file as well in case I, or you, want to add them to anything else in the future.

  • TI4_Control_1-6.stl:
These are the original unmodified Control Tokens made by jjacjackson (https://www.thingiverse.com/jjacjackson/).
Completely untouched and unremixed, but included them to get a complete pack.
All credits for the Control Tokens and the unique logos go to jjacjackson (https://www.thingiverse.com/jjacjackson/).
Print 16 per player, (17 if you don't use the VP token)

(Added the Update#3 info in a second text block first, but since since the recent update destroyed the format codes on everything below the Summary... I didn't really feel like giving you a broken wall of text. So I'll add it here instead in all it's formatted and sectioned glory!)

UPDATE #3
Upcoming Plan/Design/Release
Now for the exciting NEWS about a separate but very relevant upload that I mentioned above in Update #3!

Twilight Imperium 4.5th Saga Edition
The goal is to collect, remix, AND most of all (hopefully all, or almost all) redesign a lot of the physical game.

This is not any kind of house rules game, or a complete thematic reskin, nor is it a rework on the game play or anything like that.

It will still be Twilight Imperium 4th Edition....
Just... prettier, cooler, neater, and more practical.

An upgrade that contains both practical and cosmetic designs for components, game play assistance, organization, nicer looking replacements, and much more.
Including a custom made insert that will fit everything!

Depending on how much space everything takes, and how well I can design the insert, there are the potential outcomes for the insert, with the first one being the preferred goal I hope to achieve.
- The entire game, with all the upgrades and the official parts that were replaced.
- The entire game, with all the upgrades. But the parts that were replaced didn't fit.
- The upgrades took so much space they will get their own box on the side instead!

Below is a condensed list with some of my plans:
I will not list -all- plans right now, and not in detail. I'll keep it a bit vague'ish for now and reveal more when I feel comfortable enough that I'll keep my promise to finish this project!
You know... for hype! Gotta keep some secrets at least for a little while. ;)

Oh, and if you have ANY suggestions for upgrades, let me know!
I already have a whole bunch of ideas not listed below, and sure, I might not dig your suggestion... but I might also really love the idea.
So do let me know if you have suggestions!
(if I don't entirely dig the idea I might still do it anyway, to give you more options and variations. That depends on required skill, time, effort, and so on. But I'll see what I can do. I prefer the "I might try" route instead of the "Nah!" route, unless it's way to difficult for me, or something I really don't want to spend time on. But let me know!)

  • Several tokens will get replacements
Just like with this upload, including the 6 player logos, but my own design instead of copied ones.

  • A bunch of purely cosmetic stuff.
Replacements just to make it prettier. (Some of them might be practical as well, like being easier than a flat token to pick up from the table.)

  • A bunch of new markers, tokens and props.
They don't replace any official ones, but instead serve as better and easier visual aid.
Will hopefully speed up the game by, as an example having smart designs that can remind players of effect without having to read an entire card.

  • A bunch of practical stuff
Organizational frames, holders and stands for different pieces, parts and components of the game. Including frames that keep other loose parts in place, plus a bunch of other cool stuff!
This is the most practical upgrades after the insert, as they will help a lot with faster setups, and a more organized play table.
Another practical detail is that I will try to make as much as possible colorblind friendly as well. And while I don't know yet, I hope it will apply to all upgrades!

  • Faction specific flagships!!!
Yes really! you read that right. I have a solid plan on how to avoid 17 ships multiplied for every 6 colors, and instead only having 1 flagship per faction.
    You'll see when I release them, it's a nifty little idea! ^^

Note: The ships are one of the things I probably will copy or remix, at least for now.
I'm way to beginner at 3d-modelling outside easier shapes. But the plan is that this project will get me more used to whichever 3d program I finally get stuck with, and then eventually good enough to make my own ships.

  • Of course, this upgrade WILL also come with a custom mage INSERT
The insert should fit everything in the official box!
(That's the plan at least. A potential backup plan is an "addon" box on the side, but I'm aiming for the official game box!)

  • And a whole lot of other stuff! No joke!
I have 3 pretty big spreadsheets right now filled with lists and numbers of both official contents of the game, and my own plans, plus a whole bunch of ideas that needs some braining, plus a whole lot of potential ideas I haven't decided yet if I will do or not.

Unfortunately I can't release it now, because I've just started.
My goal is to release late spring or somewhere summer, but won't have a static deadline.
The official release date is: When it's done!

Now... the tricky part is... 3d design software!
I am currently working in Tinkercad, which works, but it's very limited when it comes to really being able to design properly.
However... the way Fusion360 works (cad stuff with pure math, instead of being able to click and drag meshes and resize back and forth (like in Tinkercad) isn't doing it for me... So I'll test Blender next up, and I'll see if I can get my hands on ZBrush so I can try that one as well.
BUT, if you have any suggestions for free/cheap but still powerful sculpty 3d programs where you can direct-manipulate and sculpt objects, like in Tinkercad... just not as limited (would be nice to be able to accurately skew by dragging corners, and togglable Snap-to-Mesh when moving/resizing other meshes, or a carving tool that does'nt result in a heap of invisible "Hole" meshes grouped together with the Solid you're "carving" in... Because if you start carving a lot... Tinkercad is going to lag severely around that object, and in some cases might even freeze completely.
But I'll start with Tinkercad at least, while testing out Blender (and possible ZBrush if I can get my hands on it)

Anyway, gotta go measure a bunch of stuff now so all designs will have proper clearance and/or fit their boxes and stuff!
Stay tuned for this update later this spring or summer! :D <3

Cheers!
