3D model description

Safe traversal of Mars' desolate surface is of utmost importance to the planet's mechanical stewards. Dangers pepper the terrain in the form of irradiated no-man's land, and close-quarters combatants. The Sandstrider under the control of its lobotomized pilot, and with the keen eye of its lancer soldier is the Machinery Cult's answer to these dangers.

What this package offers:
- 5 unique 3d models, easy to print and paint for an army of Machinery Cult Sandstriders (see photos)
- Additional printable bits for repair/custom posing
- 105x70mm oval base in two variations (solid or cored)
- A total of 35 STLs, all of which are printable

Models are roughly equivalent to their official wargaming counterpart for height, but extend outward more laterally

These heavily inspired tabletop miniatures are 100% my own creation, and currently occupy my own army for wargaming.

3D printing settings

Certain files are pre-supported, others offered as raw STLs. Both sets are included in this purchase package.

I have personally printed each unique pose on my own printer for use in my own army using the Anycubic Photon - one of the first commercially available resin printers with a 2k resolution screen. Results will appear even better on newer models!

I would not recommend using an FDM (spool filament) printer for making these models, but would be very interested in seeing a result from a maker who has done so!

Chitubox settings I used to print the pictured models:
Layer Height = 0.05mm
Bottom Layer Count: 6
Exposure Time: 11s (will vary from printer to printer, perform a benchmark test)
Bottom Exposure Time: 100s
Rest Times: 0s
Lift Distance: 5.00mm
Bottom Lift Speed: 40mm/min
Lift Speed: 50mm/min
Retract Speed: 150mm/min

Models were made with Elegoo brand gray photocure UV resin in an Anycubic Photon.

That said, all printers have their quirks, and I cannot guarantee pre-supported files will work immediately for you. I recommend ChituBox for slicing software if you would like to add your own supports to these models.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
10APR2023 - report of known issue for Lychee users where object is unable to be completely repaired by slicer (known to affect "torso" STLs).
