3D model description

This is a case to go around the tiny Palm PVG100 phone (around the size of credit card) to make a usable prop of the tricorder seen in Star Trek Nemesis. It is designed to still be fully usable, with cut outs for the speaker, front camera and back camera, as well as access to the menu button and charging port.

The LCARS display is from using total launcher app for android, with the LCARS theme by NSTEnterprises.

The "buttons" were printed onto home, inkjet water slide decals and transfered onto the model, with the areas painted white as they are clear on the printed decals.

I have also included a holster, designed to have alice clips attached to the back and I would recommend lining with a thin material to stop the tricorder rattling. I chose to use the some wool I made the uniform out of, but this makes it quite a tight squeeze. I would recommend printing this as two seperate pieces to make adding the lining easier.

In addition to these files you will need:
1x Palm PVG100 phone
2x US Army Alice clips (this is how the originals were attached)
4x M2x4mm self tapping screws (to hold the back on)
2x 25mmx4mm rods (for the hinge)
Water slide decal paper

For paints I used Vellejo model air paints, as that's what I had from previous projects. I used light blue for the front "scanner" piece, chrome for the speaker and black for the gip and joystick.
The main body was done using 3 parts grey, 1 part silver and 1 part bronze
