3D model description

Edit (7/5/19) I finally added a twist to the actual tool part which should allow for a print without supports. When I get home tonight, I'll give it a shot. I would like to tweak this a little more, so I'll consider this an "alpha" version of this tool. First, the threads for the cap piece are very blocky- I forgot to smooth the edges of the threads before I combined it with the other part. I'll likely redo that, as I'm not sure it it will close very well as is. Regardless, I'll report back tonight after I test print it. I removed the prior two parts and uploaded the most recent versions.

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS! Currently it will not print properly as I have to figure out how to print the ribs in the actual "tool" part without supports. I think I will slightly angle them, maybe with something like an auger type shape similar to a fine machine screw. I will update once I figure it out.

I saw this neat tool for sale which helps get the twists out of twisted pair cable when you are terminating it. Rather than pay $20 for the tool, I designed my own. Big thanks to /u/77ticktock on reddit who suggested I add a removable base so that you could add weight (or possible even rjs at some point when I modify the tool). I haven't printed it yet, as I have a print in progress- but I will report back how it turns out. I would suggest PETG or ABS for durability, but PLA should work as well.

At a request, I uploaded the 2 parts separately. I'm still trying to find some time to revise the threads so that they can be printed properly without supports.
