3D model description

Hello! This is version 1.0 (and iterations) of AnyStrap, a multipurpose flexible strap for any and all useful things you can come up with to use it for. [version 2 found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4313908]

I designed and printed these in 2015 and still use them all up to this day. The idea originated when I needed a small customizable strap for a printed wearable gauntlet I'd designed with my newbie Sketchup skills but needed a strap to hold it on my arm. So I decided to use some of my NinjaFlex that I was very excited to use to print one. These first designs ended up surprisingly strong and easy to use overall.

I have since designed MANY different versions of these straps that I am more excited about and will be uploading as new objects with the corresponding version. I realized over time that the sharp corners of the buttons and slots/holes can get stuck and be difficult to fasten so newer designs are rounded. I also made new straps thinner to be more flexible and comfortable for wearable use (like holding a hot/cold pack on a leg or arm).

I have at least 4 new versions of the button and hole design as well as new shapes, sizes, and lengths for varying uses. I'm also hope to start a website and YouTube series to help teach how to print these successfully and in general with flexible filaments.
More to come soon!

Helpful Notes:
- These are useful as a large sturdy re-usable 'Cable Tie' (i.e. Hold together long cords, cables, tubing, wiring, rods, bundles, or "any"thing you need)
- You can fold over extra strap material and connect it to the buttons to keep it out of the way (see photos).
- The v1.2 and 1.4 designs have a wider slot near the buttons for looping through extra strap length to keep things neat.

3D printing settings

I use an E3D Volcano hot-end and used the 0.4mm nozzle with a layer height of 0.2-.25mm and 2 'shells'. Speed was about 10-15mm/s and print temp was around 218-225C depending on material.

These are also printed on a modified gMax 1.0 printer by gCreate (gcreate.com), which has a large enough build area to accommodate the larger strap sizes. If oriented at an angle most may fit normal size build platforms.
