3D model description

This is my alternative MX-10160 boot design including a die for making contactplates. The split part of the boot makes mounting the contacte much easie and is glued on the main boot afterwards. For glueing i recoment Superglue, Epoxy is also possible, but not advised (see print settings regarding resin).

There are 2 Versions Included A V1 thick and a V2 thin version. on some PSUs you might need to cut the upper outer bend (so there is no protrusion of the contact between PSU and Boot.

The boot has provisions for a manual gain 3rd contact, to use it cut it after the print out.

The die is designed for 0.5mm thick copper (or brass) sheets. For corrosian resistance tin the contact before assembly.

Here is the non split version:

3D printing settings

Print the smaller contact bearing part standing on a raft (prefered) or with a brim.

DO NOT print it with a SLA resin printer, since the resin can cause problems with curing of either the PU or Silicone potting.

For (relative) clear prints use PETG , ~240Β°C, 0.1mm (for 0.4mm nozzle) or 0.08mm (for 0.3mm nozzle) and print it realy slow (~ 20mm/s) and do a slight over extrusion (around 1-2%). You also should make the upper in black or dark material and paint the upper 1-2mm of the boot also dark (on the outside) or else you get back spilage from the screen to the input cathode...
