3D model description

This is a functional model of the "W.1" engine by "Sir. Frank Whittle" mounted on the "Gloster E28/39" which succeeded in the world's second jet propulsion flight on May 15, 1941.
Sir. Frank Whittle lagged behind the first flight accomplished by "Dr. Hans Von Ohain", but both are known as "Jet Engine Pioneers".
My model for Engine was developed by "Dr. Hans Von Ohain" is refer to titled "Turbojet Engine, 1st Flight, 1939" (TJE-05).
I made it as easy to understand as possible based on Internet information.
There are many interesting features that allows you to know the engine design, manufacturing, and assembly techniques of that time.

A. Features built into this model
① Double Sided Impeller with large Diffuser Passages and long Discharge Pipes
② Single Axial Turbine Wheel Bladed by Circular Slots with Front and Rear Surfaces Air Cooling Vanes
But removed "Rear Surface Air Cooling Feature" at later model.
③ Reverse Flow Combustion Chamber, 10 Cans Type
④ Atomizer Type Fuel Nozzle (using with Kerosene)
 ⑤ Electrical Starter

[Note] The followings have been changed.
・Upper and lower split Compressor Case → No split case
・Impeller → Separated to 2 pieces and glued
・Bladed Turbine Rotor → 1 piece type rotor Separated to 2 pieces and glued

B. Assembly Manual (PDF format, total 15 pages)
The detail assembly manual including "Parts-List", "After printing treatment" and "Assembly procedure" are prepared based on "Standard Skill (Filing, Drilling, Tapping and painting)".

C. Purchase Parts Information;
 - Metal Bearing - DDL-1370ZZ (7x13x4) x2
 - Aluminum Pipe - φ3, 4 5
 - Screw - M1.4, M3 , Tap required
Quantity and length can be adjusted by your experience.

D. STL file
Total STL files are 39 items including the stand and tools.
“ws” of last 2 digits of file name means “With Support” special designed.

E. Total Net Print Time: Approx. 88 HR
 - (Estimated as case of PLA, 0.4mm Nozzle, 0.2mm Layer Height, 40% infill and No raft and support)
Note: When at actual print, each parameter may be adjusted by your experience.
There are parts where "Support" removal is difficult and time consuming.(Compressor Case, IGV Case etc.)
   Please remove it patiently.

F. Printing settings
Raft, Support, Layer Height, Infill: Depending on your experience.
My models were printed by "idbox" using with 0.4 nozzle, 1.75 PLA.

This model is one of my "Special Article" items below.
