I’ve made substantial changes and corrections in this version. Many parts have been completely rebuilt. Some parts have been cleaned up for better more stable printing, higher strength. A few features that don’t belong have been removed.

This is a fully 3D Printable replica model of an AIM-9X Sidewinder Missile, Full Scale. It can be scaled to any size. Full scale is based on a 5" main tube, 80% is a 4" main tube, and 60% is a 3" main tube. It works best using aluminum tubing for the main body but the main body can also be 3D Printed. NAS Aerospace MilSpec Standard hardware is used where possible. NAS Aerospace fasteners add very important detail but not required for any build.

• Comes with a list of hardware and fasteners. Most have McMaster Carr part numbers.

• Specifically designed to be 3D Printed and assembled

• The full scale model will fit a any real LAU launcher that is compatible with any Sidewinder Missile

• Reasonable changes can be made to the model to fit your build at no extra charge after file purchase

• Entire model can be dismantled and reassembled. This may be useful for storage or shipping

• The Arm/Safe Switch is functional

• Rear wings rotate

• Thrust vector fins rotate

• Camera Gimbal rotates and tilts

• Very few parts need supports

• Aluminum tubing can be substituted the main body tube, target section, guidance section, and seeker bodies if desired. There is files for these parts to 3D Print

​I used an Ultimaker 2 Extended+. Smaller parts at .16mm layer height and .2-.24mm for the larger parts. Most parts don't need support. The support is minimal for the parts that need it. I print exclusively with 3DXtech Carbon Fiber PLA. The rigidity of the Carbon Fiber enables thinner, more accurate parts. 100% infill, 2mm perimeters. Only a few parts need supports and it's a small amount of supports.
