3D model description

This is a slightly modified version of the 3D printed face shield from HanochH. As of April 18, 2020 this has been approved for use by the Infection Prevention team at Christiana Hospital in Delaware, USA. For this hospital's approval, the following must be true:
clear plastic used for the shield material must be 0.02" thick
clear plastic must extend 9.5" below the 3D printed portion touching forehead

This design is based off of: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4233193

Here are the modifications:
-removal of slots in top of mask to help with print quality and limit droplet contact to the user from above
-increased width of the ends where the elastic is attached to help with strength as well as print quality
-radii have been added to improve break strength under bend
-addition of optional bottom cap which can help with shield stability. Found very helpful when using 0.02" PVC.

In addition to the modifications listed above, I recommend constructing the mask with a seal along the entire forehead contacting edge, from elastic to elastic, to help significantly with user comfort and to improve the seal from droplet contact from above.

Here are some options for sourcing the components which are currently in stock:
