USB type A port lock - RJ45 Ethernet port lock

Hey, yes i am talking to you

Have you had enough with your employees using unwanted USB devices or messing with Ethernet ports in the office computers?

Are you a paranoid Cybersecurity guy (like me) who afraid of someone plug in some malicious USB drive or connecting an unauthorized Ethernet device?

Then this Thing is for YOU and for you ONLY ;) (no really it's for everyone)

Teh story:
It started way back when i noticed some companies do not disable their USB port permissions due to laziness or not being aware.

And also when i wanted to find a solution for that i came by a product mimicking a Male USB but with a key to insert or remove it

when i noticed the price tag for a simple item i was like i could do this way cheaper and in plastic cause it's fantastic xD

On serious note, please provide feedback to my creation so i could improve it much further and i will make different USB and it will be included in same page.

Also, this model will be updated from time to time and i will include the old and the new version in same download folder.

Say hello to our new addition which is an Ethernet port lock
can be used with USB key model or Ethernet key model
and it work with same principle as USB port lock

Added a Version 2 which is slightly shorter so doesn't stick out, and adjusted so it's not possible to pull with fingernail from the tab location.

How does it work:
Insert the model (USB Socket lock) inside USB port and if you want to remove it then insert the model (USB Key) inside the hole of (USB Socket lock) then you will remove it from the USB socket

Read carefully and check the last pictures

Layer height:
I prefer using the lowest layer height 0.1 but 0.2 worked fine but
had some problems due to tight clearances because of 0.2

Infill: doesn't matter

Supports (Only for USB socket lock.stl) please check the last 2 pictures and read the below carefully
(USB socket lock.stl) "SHOULD" be above the ground like 1mm which is intended and and "SHOULD" use supports only on the buildplate not everywhere but only on the model (USB socket lock.stl)

The reason for being above the ground because some printers when they print they squish filaments way to much and you get flat spot which will not be able to be inserted into the USB port

Print thin walls if the model is not slicing properly and use 0.4 nozzle or lower and also lower the Minimum Feature Size to 0.05

The USB socket lock should be 3.75mm x 12mm x 6mm after printing slight deviations is fine as long is it not way too much

The Ethernet port lock should be 7.6mm x 11mm x 7.7mm after printing slight deviations is fine as long is it not way too much

**note regarding (Ethernet port lock.stl) **
when inserting first time it may require some minimal force but if it didn't worked out you could sand it or use lighter on the corners
