Hey ^^

In April 2022, I published the Jetfan, a small desktop size fan in aircraft engine shape, which files you also can find on my page here. In parallel I worked on a way bigger idea of an electric jet engine model. After 4 versions, a 76 page manual and 5 months of preparation, here we are:

The TableTopTurbine is an electric jet engine model with two main features:

-Rotating Fan

-Working Thrust Reverser

The download includes 54 STL files, a detailed manual containing an overview, additional parts to purchase, slicer screenshots+settings and an assembly section. Furthermore you get an electric circuit diagram and visuals.

It weighs about 5kg and is mainly printed out of PLA with two parts made of PETG.

The turbine body dimensions are 32x32x49. The base and the frame the turbine is mounted to are considered optional. This means that you could even glue it to the ceiling, if you like (Please, send me a photo if you do so ^^)

It is controlled by an Arduino which powers a 180w brushless motor for the fan and two servos for the thrust reverser via PWM outputs.

Required printer build volume: 220x220x210 (Some parts have to be printed diagonally placed)

Originally printed on: 250x210x210 with a 0.6 nozzle

Print time with a 0.6 Nozzle.

3D printing settings

In general, print temperature for PLA parts are ~200°C, PETG parts ~ 230°C.

I recommend printing it with a 0.6 nozzle since printing certain parts with a 0.4 nozzle takes quite some time (15hrs+).

Total print time is about 160 hours. The assembly takes 5-7 hours.
