3D model description

I wanted Laser Prime to have more firepower, so I designed a modular articulated rocket launcher for him based on the weapons from the G2 'Hero Optimus Prime' toy. The set in total is 5 pieces for 1 Rocket Launcher, though I personally recommend printing 2 of them for the full experience. This weapon can be placed in a variety of spots on the robot and vehicle mode, allowing for lots of fun play & display options. The main support piece is designed with grooves in the back, which allow you to store the weapon on the side(s) of Prime's trailer. The rocket is detachable, and blast effects can be placed on the weapon and connected to the rocket to make it appear as if it's being launched. The tip of the rocket is also blast effect compatible, if you want to use it as some sort of gun. You can also just ditch the rocket completely and use the rest of the weapon as a minigun/rifle, if that's what you prefer. You can print it in different colors to best suit your taste. I printed 1 in all-gray and 1 in multiple colors to match the layout of Prime's robot mode.

NOTE: This will be compatible with the upcoming Legacy Velocitron Scourge / Black Convoy / Nemesis Prime figure, and any other potential future repaints of the toy.

Assembly:

WARNING: PLA+ or any kind of filament that isn't very brittle is highly recommended for this set. There are some tight tolerances that could risk breakage if super brittle or otherwise cheap filament is used. The white filament I used was super cheap and broke easily, which may be slightly noticeable in some of the pictures. I had to re-glue it multiple times.

NOTE: Sanding may or may not be required in certain areas to improve tolerances. It all depends on your printer and filament, your mileage may vary.

1: Rocket Launcher Support Peg has to be glued into the bottom of the Rocket Launcher Support. It's fairly easy to do, I included a slot for where the peg needs to go.

2: Rocket Launcher Hinge pops into the top of the Rocket Launcher Support.

3: Rocket Launcher pops into the Rocker Launcher Hinge. The hinge may need to be sanded slightly before pegging the Rocket Launcher in to avoid any breakage. This applies more if your filament is fairly brittle.

4: Rocket piece plugs into the end of the Rocket Launcher. Boom! Your weapon is complete.

Print Settings:
Layer Height: 0.1mm or 0.14mm
Supports: Absolutely.
The orientation of the Rocket Launcher piece is up to your own preference, whichever one works best for you.
