The Tofas Sahin are Turkish versions of the old Fiat 131.

In 1977, the Turkish company Tofas began production of a licensed copy of the Fiat 131 sedan under its own name Murat 131. In the eighties, the car was modernized and received a design in the style of the Fiat Regata model and the new name Tofas Sahin.

Gasoline engines with a volume of 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6 liters, as well as a 1.9-liter turbo diesel engine, were installed on the rear-wheel drive. Depending on the modification, the sedan was equipped with four-speed or five-speed manual transmissions. The station wagon version was called Tofas Kartal, and the sedan with improved trim and equipment was called Tofas Dogan.

Due to the low price, the Tofas Sahin was in good demand in the Turkish market in the eighties-nineties, but gradually interest in the car decreased, and in 2002 the outdated model was removed from the conveyor. Large-node assembly of sedans was also carried out in Egypt until 2009 and in Ethiopia until 2010.
