WARNING: THIS ITEM WILL BE INCLUDED IN MY DOUBLE END BOBBIN / PIRN WINDER FOR FREE.

Itomaki is the Japanese version to a modern day cones or bobbins. It is usually used with a special silk reeling device called Zakuri when winding yarn into the Itomaki. The Itomaki has 8 pieces and assembled like a LEGO bricks. No glue is required to put together the pieces. This 3D printed version is about 105x105x120mm when assembled.

The Itomaki can be used with my 3D printed bobbin or pirn winder with some modifications. If you purchased my Double End Bobbin / Pirn Winder, the Itomaki files will be included for free.

For me, the motor is too fast to handle the size of the Itomaki so made some mods to convert the bobbin winder from electric to hand crank.

Layer Height: 0.28mm
Wall count: 2
Infill: 30% (you can probably go lower)
Infill patter: Tri-hexagon

Filament: Esun PLA+
Nozzle: 205
Bed: 60
Support: Enabled for the cross pieces

Horizontal Hole Expansion: 0mm for the legs to provide a tight fit; 0.2mm for the cross pieces.

Printing time: 2hr 6min
Weight: 23g

Printing orientation:
Legs: holes facing up (no support required)
Cross pieces: I printed the two cross pieces at the same time. The top side of the pieces I laid flat to the bed so it will be shiny. You will need support if you print the two parts at the same time.
