3D model description

FB-230 Mosquito Heavy Strike Fighter from Spiral War Liberators book series.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B3QXB67D

Technical Description:

Designed to take and give a beating, the Mosquito is the Galactic Federation’s primary fleet interdictor. It’s armament are based primarily around the destruction of capital ship weapons and sensor emplacements, with a heavy missile armament and twin turrets for self defense. Designed by a consortium of contractors from multiple worlds, the Mosquito is one of the most popular fighter bombers amongst the Galactic Federation’s servitor races. More GF servitors have gained ace status and worked their way into high ranking positions and eventual freedman status on the platform than any other.

Equipped with powerful sensor jamming and masking systems, Mosquitos can serve as fleet vanguards with low chance of detection. This must be done with all weapons and engine systems shut down with the exception of the reserve powerplant, life support and sensor masks. This leaves the craft vulnerable if detected for several moments. The engine is also considered somewhat fragile, and does not have the longevity of similar designs. To counter this the modular design allows for quick field replacement and refurbishment.

“The only reason that we didn’t lose every Mosquito in the original production line was all about our escorts. Getting four different contractors, two of which were alien, to all build to the same standards was a damn nightmare. It wasn’t until the second production line started and Lockheed stepped up to ensure that everyone worked together better that we got a quality fighter bomber. Now if the Russian Consortium could just get us an engine that didn’t need replacement so often.” Commander Christian Blake VMFA-323 “Death Rattlers”
