3D model description

Everyone's favorite crime-fighting group's iconic headgear is now available to complete your cosplay! Separate parts make it easy to print on most printers. with the right color filament, you can avoid painting as well.

3D printing settings

GENERAL

all parts are pre-oriented for best printing. all parts have flat surfaces to ensure good bed adhesion. The main headset has a significant arch that requires support. The headset file will fit on an ender 3 if you turn off the brim. a full headset is too tall for the ender 3, so you will have to use the split parts set. Taller printers may be able to use the full headset file, so it is included in the download.

QUALITY

I suggest a layer height of 0.2mm, a wall thickness of 2 layers, and an infill of 20%. The brim will extend outside the print area and cause issues in the slicer so I suggest turning it off. Supports should be turned on and be sufficient to support the underside of the top of the helmet.

ASSEMBLY

If you have printed the full headset no assembly is required. If you have printed the separate parts use the following instructions. Apply glue (if necessary) to the holes on the bottom of the ears and insert the alignment pins. Apply glue to the flat parts of the headset and inside the holes (if necessary). Align the pins in the ears to the holes on the headset and push them together. the fit of the pins should be fairly tight. clean up any glue and optionally any visible seams between parts and the build is finished.
