3D model description

So, I'd imagine most of us have seen Rin.ch's repaint of the Rolling Vistamp (https://youtu.be/6uNoKA-FX1Y) right? Well, while I'm a big fan of how the eyes look, I'm not planning on learning airbrushing anytime soon (air pumps are expensive, dude).

So I made this, the Rolling Upgrade! A simple little piece that gives this closed-off effect to the LED without any major modifications to the Vistamp!

There are four variants: Open, Closed, BracelessOpen, and BracelessClosed. The bracing arm is meant to stabilize the piece so it doesn't shake, but apparently my measurements are so god-tier that it can fit snugly inside without bracing. (plus it means the braceless ones don't need supports when printing, so that's a plus)

The color of the piece when you print it is important. White pieces are better at spreading the light from the LED out, while black pieces blend in with the Vistamp better and just look nicer when the LED is off. (I personally prefer using the Open variant printed in all black) Painting the outside of white parts black is also a valid option. There are example gifs included here, but the pic quality is ass (expected when you shine an LED into a camera). Feel free to make a bunch to find which one you like best.

Anyways it's free, blah blah, don't sell it, I'll do that myself, you get the jist.

This thing really makes the Rolling Vistamp feel like a true prop instead of just a toy, and (in my opinion) makes it feel far more like a show-accurate item that I'm proud to display. And now you can feel that way too! Have fun!

Edit: I can confirm it works wonderfully with the Crimson Vistamp. White pla with the outside painted black gives the best results (in my opinion.) Picture added.

And while you're here, why not check out this vistamp-related vid I made: https://youtube.com/shorts/u6AoaU-AdHA?feature=share

3D printing settings

These are printed in standard PLA.
Any layer height should be fine, I usually default to 0.16mm.
The braced versions will require supports, and the Closed version will require either some custom supports or support blockers to keep the inside of the part clear of printing debris.
