3D model description

These seven polygonal birds mimic birds in various stages of flight. You can hang these as eye-catching dΓ©cor for inside or outside. Each bird has two countersink holes used to easily mount with simple panel nails.

What You Get
Seven unique models

Model Sizes
All birds are 5.6 mm thick
1. Bird 1: 187.7 x 125.42 mm
2. Bird 2: 203.73 x 192.68 mm
3. Bird 3: 205.04 x 171.67 mm
4. Bird 4: 186.85 x 200.11 mm
5. Bird 5: 159.03 x 181.75 mm
6. Bird 6: 221.74 x 166.24 mm
7. Bird 7: 185.02 x 201.00 mm

Parts needed
- 16 gauge panel nails - 2 nails per bird
The nails I used are Hillman brand 16 gauge panel nails in white which fit the holes in the model perfectly. They are available on Amazon and hardware stores like Lowes

Hanging Instructions
1. There's no right or wrong way to order the birds, but try laying them out on the floor or on a table to find what is visually appealing to you.
2. Make sure that wherever you choose to hang the birds that the nails won't interfere with anything like plumbing or electrical wires inside or behind the wall.
3. When hammering the nails, if they are powder coated, you may want to place a thin barrier between the nail head and hammer to prevent the coating from chipping off from too many hammer strikes.

3D printing settings

These models are sized for a print bed like on an Ender 3 or Prusa i3 MK3S. The models will not fit on a Prusa Mini. Most birds will need to be printed one at a time because they use the whole length of the print bed, but you may be able to fit birds 1 and 5 together on the print bed together like I did.

  • Layer height: 0.20 mm
  • Infill: 15%
  • Brim: Recommended for PETG to preventing lifting
  • Print Scale: 100%
  • Can it be scaled smaller? Not without affecting the nail hole size.
