3D model description

In the Railway Series, Annie and Clarabel were illustrated as double bogie coaches since Tank Engine Thomas Again where they got their first illustrated appearance. while how they're illustrated would change slightly throughout the series, they were always double bogie coaches.

Comparably in the Television series, both were made into 4-wheeled branch line coaches. smaller and more rectangular in shape with fewer serves compared to their RWS illustrations. the changes made through the Classic to the CGI eras were mainly in colors. the first change would be for Annie, raising her buffer beam to be the same as Clarabels around the 3rd-4th series. they would receave red buffers in the 5th series along with their roofs being painted gray as well. they would remain the same up till the 13th series when the show moved to CGI where they remained the same sense up till All engines Go.

the original versions of these models were simply extended versions of the Bachmann models, they fell too narrow so I added a curve to the lower half of them and gave them a proper thickness I was happy with. Clarabel is canonically a Break coach/ auto fitted in the RWS. so I took inspiration from Wilbert Awdrys models of his characters removing a few windows to leave 3 passenger areas, luggage area, and guards area.

the chassis was adapted from the Bachmann Mail van chassis, adding details from the A&C models and details underneath to look closer to IRL coaches. the bogies have also been copied from the Mail Van, also made a version to use Dovetail fittings for NEM couplings.

Within the files, you will find STL files for two variants of these models. 2 look like they are extended versions of the A&C from the TV series, and the other two have their faces removed. so you can use the blank variants and paint them in different colors.
