The Skeeter HD chassis is a modular chassis designed to be highly adaptable for heavy duty vehicles. The design uses modules that can be connected to each other with unions allowing for an incredible amount of custom configurations. Detailed instructions are provided for assembly of each module.

The modules are:

Steering
Transmission
Drive Axle

Drive Lines
Fifth Wheel
Frame
Any module can be attached to any other module making it possible to create nearly any real world vehicle layout. To name a few: Dump Truck, Box Truck, Day Cab, Over the Road Cab, Garbage Truck, Fire Truck, Concrete Mixer, Motorhome, City Bus, School Bus, Cab Over, Tow Truck, Fuel Truck, Flatbed Truck, Etc.

To keep the design simple and easy to use the hardware required is commonly found. All rotating parts that need bearings use a 10x15x4mm bearing. All connections are made with M3 screws. A Standard Servo is used for steering and Micro servos for the lift axle and fifth wheel. The motor mount is for the common 540 size motor. The wheels and tires are fully printable. However, if you wish to purchase wheels or tires instead, they are the common size found on 1/14 scale trucks. You can also mix them, printing the rim and buying the tire.

Update Log:

05/19/22 - Added adapters for fitting tamiya steer and drive axlesto the frame in place of printed ones. Added Steer axle shock mounts.
