3D model description

Put slots @45 degrees for lens and a mirror. the long flat piece with the hole in it is for the led as well as the lens....It is a template to trace to get the right fit, but it will need trimming first. I used a DVD split into layers for the plastic because it has a rainbow shine, is slightly tinted, and is easy to cut with scissors. I used the same plastic for the hologram.....You will have to play with the hologram for the right placement. the hole is for a 5mm LED which is supposed to point directly to the front/ middle of the scope which is then reflected off of a mirror finish up into the hologram. I could not get the mirror plate in there, so i just went with it as is. If you do that, the hologram will show much better if u point the led up at it, which is why my pic is so messy, I had to cut the hole open to put the LED in and I just glued thatblue plastic to keep the LED where it is and keep the positive and negative from touching. Oh and just cut the LED/Lens plastic when you get it sized to keep the LED part, but the new lense cut from the template will go in the place that you cut off. I did my reticle with a Cricut vinyl cutter, I made the image about .25 inches.....I stuck it on a trimmed out square of clear DVD plastic. I also made a bigger rectangle of DVD plastic and glued it inside the body of the scope, against the open square of the hologram.....This just made it easier to sit the hologram in the square, and keeps it from falling in....In fact my hologram is not glued in, its just snug in the square, so I can change it anytime. I need to seal off the light leaks, but I am designing on the fly and I thought that for a few hours or time, the project was good enough to get to you guys and let you work out the rest. At least until I have. You do not need a Cricut or vinyl, you could easily use a magic marker, but in my 1st test, even if i colored both sides in black marker, it still leaked some light and was very uneven in coverage. So I went with vinyl. you could do it with an exacto knife and electrical tape on the plastic to get a solid black outline. just cut out your reticle. Spray paint over a sticker / vinyl works as well, just remember to use very thin coats to keep the lines sharp. Oh and if you're using super glue to glue a dvd plastic lense in, dont use a lot as it seems to like how slippery the plastic is and will run down it really fast. It dries milky white, so I wouldnt use too much on parts that need to be clear. If the clearance is right you dont even need to glue the lens, as the body and led holder will hold it in
