3D model description

Designed specifically as an add-on attachment (i.e. The truck body is sold separately) for the C23 “Workhorse” in 4x4 and 420mm wheelbase configuration (will not work with shorter wheelbase builds), the flatbed enhances the looks of the C23 as well as gives it a true utilitarian use, making it a true Workhorse!

The flatbed comes in many options and details, including some bonuses. Despite it being only a 12 piece print, there are a total of more than 40 files for you to choose from to best fit your style and needs, i.e. not all files are necessary!

Starting off with the light buckets on the headache rack and on the bumper, 5mm LEDs can be mounted for scale realism.

A battery box is also included which is designed to be directly mounted onto the flatbed’s floor. The battery box is also disguised in a toolbox shape to blend in as a scale accessory, but it also functions well. The lid of the box can be opened in 2 ways to store or swap your battery, hinge and slide. This ensures the easiest battery swapping operations on the trail.

Beefy mounts for the flatbed are also included which have some degree of fore-aft adjustability. However the height is fixed. Therefore you may need to design the mounts yourself. Let us know if you need help designing them.

The bumper mount is also designed for an Axial SCX10 iii. However if your stock bumper mount just happens to be at the right length then there is no need for any customisation. Again, let us know if you need help designing it.

The flatbed also features many included options to suit your needs and styles.

Headache rack:
- Full size; 1 piece print (requires a build volume of minimum 275x240x140mm) OR (95x240x80mm) depending on which headache rack you choose.
- Split in half; 2 piece print (requires a build volume of minimum 275x120x140mm)OR (95x120x80mm)
- Split in quarter; 4 piece print for “tall” headache rack versions only(requires a build volume of minimum 140x120x140mm)

  • Tall headache rack with honeycomb-like panels
  • Tall headache rack (alt version) solid filled panels
  • Short headache rack for a more sleek look (cannot be used with the included battery box)

Fender:
- Fender; standard wheel arch with inner fender integrated. Designed for 5.4in tyres
- Fender alt ver; wheel arch without inner fender. Designed for 5.4in tyres

Flatbed floor:
- Full size 1 piece print (requires a build volume of minimum 300x240x19mm)
- Split in half; 2 piece print (requires a build volume of minimum 300x120x19mm)
- Split in quarter; 4 piece print (requires a build volume of minimum 160x120x19mm)

  • Flatbed (flat), to mount on chassis that use leaf springs or without shock towers
  • Flatbed (cut), to mount on chassis that uses coilover and tall shock towers that protrude through the bed. The shock towers and shocks will show in the clearance hole on the flatbed.
  • Flatbed (cut alt. version), to mount on a chassis that also uses coilovers but lower shorter shock towers such as the Axial SCX10 iii. This one has an integrated enclosure to hide the shocks protruding through the flatbed

Front cover plate:
- Front cover (cut) for drivetrain clearance
- Front cover normal version

Battery Box:
- Lid with contour for a sleeker look
- Flat lid without a contour for easier printing

  • Standard compartment (houses 168x52x55mm maximum size)
  • Chamfered bottom compartment, same as the standard version but with chamfered bottom sides for a sleeker look to go with the contoured lid (max battery size is the same)

Bumper:
- Bumper post adjustable
- Bumper post fixed length for flush fit with bumper mount

A .zip file containing all the print files is also included for convenience.

It is highly recommended to read the instruction manual before purchasing, to ensure you have all the required tools and hardware to assemble this body.

FDM printing:

Requires a printer that can print a minimum volume of:
160x120x140mm (EXCLUDING battery box)
190x120x140mm (INCLUDING battery box)

PLA+ filament
0.3mm layer heights
15-30% infill density
Minimal supports are necessary (NO SUPPORTS NEEDED for honeycomb-like panels for headache rack)

Finished and assembled size:
308*237*208mm (All parts assembled, without C23 “Workhorse” cab)
607*240*218 (All parts assembled, with C23 “Workhorse” cab)
