3D model description

A miniature of a flying galleon ship. This model can be used as a space galleon in a Dungeons and Dragons Spelljammer game or in other tabletop fantasy games.

This model is at a scale of 1:600. This is the same scale as the official Spelljammer ship miniatures made by Wizkids. It’s about 4 inches (100mm) long, as measured from the tips of the masts, and 1 inch (25mm) Wide. It comes with the option of a 3 inch (76mm) or a 2 inch (51mm) diameter Base.

The model is designed to be printable on a FDM printer with minimal supports. There is also a version included for printing on a resin printer that is hollow and has a pre-supported option.

A version of this model with extra sails sticking out the sides can be found for free here: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/galleon-flying-fantasy-ship-model-compatible-with-dnd-spelljammer

3D printing settings

When printing don’t use a nozzle any larger than 0.4mm. I recommend a layer height of 0.1mm.

Set the support overhang angle to 60 degrees in order to avoid the generation of unnecessary supports. I’ve found that in Cura the default zig zag support pattern does not properly generate supports for some of the thinner areas on the model. The grid support pattern worked well for me. If you plan to paint this model I suggest printing it in black filament because there are some spots that are difficult to reach with a paintbrush and unpainted crevices will stand out less if they're black.
