3D model description

"... and it will never be that way again."
- Jacqueline Kennedy

Camelot has always been less of a place and more of an ideal, at least until the great human diaspora. It remained a legend that sparked mans' minds for thousands of years.

At the dawn of Old Night, when nightmares became real and mankind struggled against enemies long thought pacified, some worlds were fortunate enough to be protected by massive walking war machines. Many others, who weren't, vanished in an orgy of blood and unimaginable pain.

The walkers, and their pilots, were subtly twisted over the many long centuries into stratified monarchal society they are today. It was not precisely the fault of the pilots as their machines slowly twisted their minds; but that of a long-forgotten engineer or scientist who decided chivalry was the least-bad option for a final failsafe in the event a world was unable to reestablish contact humanity amonst the stars.

One such world, who's original designation is lost to the slow decay of history and the sudden violence of repeated planetary invasion, dove wholeheartedly into the psycho-indoctrination of their warmachines and its mentally altered pilots. Miraculously, a nearly complete collection of the legends of King Arthur survived war, fire, civil unrest, and even a freak volcanic eruption.

The surviving population took the name Camelot; not out of hubris, but as an ideal to emulate.

Full knights wear what is thought to have been the original symbol of Old Terra's Camelot on their left paultron. Whenever a Knight returns from battle, the insignia is always the very first thing restored - even before rearming spent munitions. As a matter of tradition the pilot him or herself will paint the insignia with gold or yellow paint, unless unconscious. Badly wounded pilots eschew intensive medical attention until after they repaint their machine's insignia.

The paultron was shamelessly stolen by Codewalrus, who created the awesome Imperial Warrior. The symbol was found somewhere in the bowels of the internet by the Oracle. And the fusion of the two was far more brutal than I expected - I've really got to get better at this workflow.

Updated to now include the appropriate shin armor plate. You'll have to mirror the shin if you want to go with the GW approved decor.

I wouldn't even attempt this on an FDM printer
