3D model description

Lens caps which screw into your lens' filter thread. Parametric to create a lens cap to fit any lens you want.
Additional the possbility to extent the cap outward to make an empty space and make a hole in the center of the cap. This hole can be used for creative photograpy.
Also when the cap is extended outward the possibility of adding a text on the iside of the cap is included.
I made this cap for some creative photograpy with a group of other 'crazy' people in my photo group.

Just adjust the diameter (dia) to the correct filter size of your lens and you are good to go. Remember to switch off the show_slice. More parameters are adjustable. Just play around with it.

This design is based on
SCAD Camera Lens Cap by emilcarr on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4741679
Thanks for the instruction about the filter diameter and thread!

version 1 cap with an extension and a hole of 16mm in the cap, for serveral filter diameters.

version 2 added bokeh for a 50mm 1.8f lens
see https://www.instructables.com/DIY-Heart-shaped-Bokeh/ for suggestions and measurements for how to make a bokeh with a nice shape.

The lens should have a wide aperture (around f/1.8 or lower).
I've used a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens.

The diameter of the lens opening is the focal length divided by the f-stop number.
For a 50mm lens at f/1.8, the opening is around 27.7 mm. Hence, our bokeh shape should be less than this value.

Make an inner circle with a diameter about 30% smaller than the calculated value of the lens opening.
Inside this inner circle, draw the heart shape to the best of your artistic abilities.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photographic_filter#Filter_sizes_and_mountings for a list of filter thread diameters and their corresponding pitch.
- 43 to 58 mm every 3 mm and from 62 to 82 mm every 5 mm
