This adapter allows 2x 18650'S in series to power classic retro tyco RC cars (or the Rebound 4x4 at least). The 18650's are 18mm dia, and the original pack is about 17mm deep. So i cannot be sure of fitment in other models.

Please note carefully the risks i), ii) & iii) associated with producing and using this item. i strongly advise you conduct your own research into 18650 cell use before downloading. MISUSE OF BATTERIES CAN CAUSE FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS.

i). Note that the voltage of 2x fully charged 18650's in series is 8.4v. The original TYCO pack was rated at 6v. Subsequently, I strongly advise only using this setup in an RC car that you are happy to risk complete faliure of. Furthermore, pay attention to the charge level of each of the cells during use. The car will likely perform well all the way down to around 4v (2+2v) WHICH IS DANGEROUSLY LOW for 18650’s. So once each cell reaches 2.9v STOP.
Only use matching cells of the same age, cycles and charge levels.

ii). Note that Li-ion cells have very specific conditions under which they should be operated. More so when they are wired in series like they are here. In a purchased product, these conditions would be managed by a Battery Managment System (BMS). This System ensures cell health is maintained and subsequent fire/explosion risk is substantially reduced.

iii)18650 cells should be charged with a designated 18650 cell charger, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHARGE THEM WITH THE ORIGINAL TYCO RC CHARGER,

More on the model:
To make this work you will require a 200mm length of 12mm(max width) nickel strip.
mine was approx 0.4mm thickness and has worked well.

I'd advise printing with 3 walls at 0.2mm layer in a high temp material such as ABS or PETG. Use a zig zag support structure just to maintain accuracy of the fitment tabs/overhang)
