3D model description

Tired of miniatures being knocked aside or monopoly houses scattered across the table by overzealous dice throws? Worried about a friend fixing dice throws? This is a simple and compact dice tower to help contain dice on a small surface area while helping to ensure rolls are random. Great for games at school, work or the kitchen table. The complete tower will print in under 5 hours using a standard Ender 3 printer with 0.2mm layer heights and 0.4mm nozzle.

I added bumpers/teeth to the Compact Travel D&D Dice Tower by ScottSieke so that the dice would hit more surfaces as they pass through the tower, achieving random rolls. The tower will easily pass standard sized dice, including a 20mm D20. Note: Magic the Gathering spin down life counters will not fit, though they will in the original. No supports are needed if printed in the orientation shown.

The base was adjusted slightly to make the tower angle a little steeper keeping dice from getting stuck at the lip on occasion. I also added a simple locking mechanism to keep the tower upright or closed. The lock is strong enough to keep a set of plastic dice in place, even when inverted and shaken. I have not tried with heavier metal dice.

The tower will hold a standard set of D&D dice (D20, D12,D00, D10, D8, D6, and D4) or up to 8 D6 dice. The tray is large enough for ~3 D6 dice to be rolled at once, or a few more if using 10-12mm dice.

A small piece of felt could be added to the tray base to dampen the noise.

For convenience I include both together as one stl or individually. Print both the tower and the base. Carefully snap the the two together by pushing the tower down into the base. The tower has two locking pieces that should pair up with two of the three corresponding indentations in the base. The tower can then be rotated to pair with the other indentation in either the locked or tower position.
